Cebu Doctors' University (CDU)

They did not meet any expectations of a university whatsoever. Their customer service especially for international students is horrible. The teachers are not helpful and do not create an environment for everyone to learn. Staff are rude. There is no organization within the university and it reflects. And for the tuition they charge more than half of the classrooms are not air conditioned and cleanliness is not one of they’re strong suits. Don’t go here

Doesn't teach doctors! Problem based learning does not work. A lot of time is wasted, and despite a nice facility, the quality of education is reflected by the absence of lectures, resulting in a lack of real learning. Would not recommend for medical school. Recently the school even reminded students they are not allowed to study in their assigned group discussion rooms,only in the small library or in the loud hallway.

Cebu Doctors' University, abbreviated as CDU, is a private university located in Mandaue City, Cebu, Philippines. Founded in 1973 at Cebu City as Cebu Doctors' College (CDC), the school was formally renamed in 2005 as Cebu Doctors' University (CDU). It is organized into eight colleges, a Graduate school, and as of 2016, a Senior High school (Grades 11 and 12). Cebu Doctors' University consistently ranks among the top and prestigious medical universities in the Philippines based on the National Licensure Examinations. It is the only private institution in the Philippines granted a University Status without having basic education curriculum and catering mainly to courses related to the health services field. It is the first non-sectarian university in the Visayas to be granted the Autonomous Status, the highest status a university can get from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). Cebu Doctors' University was organized in 1973 as Cebu Doctors' College and was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission in 1976. Its first campus was located adjacent to the present Cebu Doctors' University Hospital. Cebu Doctors' College of Nursing (now CDU-CN), one of the first nursing colleges in Cebu, was the first College to open in 1973. Subsequently, the following colleges opened: in 1975, the Cebu Doctors' College of Arts and Sciences (now CDU-CAS); in 1977, the Cebu Doctors' College of Medicine (now CDU-CM), a non-stock, non-profit medical foundation; in 1980, the Cebu Doctors' College of Dentistry (now CDU-CD), the Cebu Doctors' College of Optometry (now CDU-CO), and the Graduate School; and in 1982, the Cebu Doctors' Institute of Allied Medical Sciences (CDIAMS) which was later renamed Cebu Doctors' College of Allied Medical Sciences (now CDU-CAMS). In 1992, it was reconstructed creating therefrom a separate college, the Cebu Doctors' College of Rehabilitative Sciences (now CDU-CRS). In 2004, the Cebu Doctors' University College of Pharmacy (CDU-CP) was established. And in 2016, the Cebu Doctors' University Senior High School (CDU-SHS) was set up under the CDU-CAS.

been studying here for two years now and it has been dreadful ever since. they hire professors due to the fact that they are doctors and excel in that field. and that’s it. these “doctors” don’t know how to teach. what’s the point of hiring these professionals if they can’t do their job as teachers. shoutout to college of medicine :)) aside from that campus is hot and humid. no trees, just all dust (abog). structure itself is depressing

Studied here for pre med, and I would say it was the best 4 years of my learning. You get to meet lots of people from different backgrounds and during my time, I had lots of India friends which was fun. Teachers were nice and they try to help the students, good and modern facilities and spacious classrooms. Environment is very friendly and you get to make friends with people from other departments. I lived in the school dorm, which is few minutes walk to the school. Sad, I didn’t get to experience the new renovated library cos they renovated it when I was about to graduate, but based on the pictures I saw, mygosh, it’s amazing and world class! I’m so glad I chose this school as my first choice for premed and glad for the learning I got here. Would recommend this school for your premed and graduate school. I studied here for my Doctorate in Organization Development and Transformation. It was okay, but I think the University can do better on customer service especially for international students. I found the administrative processes too bureaucratic right from joining to clearance. Some staff are helpful but there is a chronic problem of poor communication between administration and students. It just makes the life experience unpleasant for a rather good academic institution. I found professors good and helpful and committed to quality. They however need to be a little more exposed to global trends. Generally a good University.
